Currently serving as a Team Leader at Infinity Egypt, where I coordinate design activities for utility-scale PV plants and MV substations across Egypt and Africa.

Objectives of PV Utility Professional Course

Level 3 covers Chapters 4 and 5 of the Mastering PV Training Program and advances participants into utility-scale and mega-scale photovoltaic power plant engineering.

Chapter 4 focuses on Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems used in utility-scale solar plants, including switchgear, transformers, RMUs, protection systems, earthing, lightning protection, cable sizing, SCADA integration, monitoring systems, commissioning procedures, FAT/SAT testing, and grid interconnection requirements in accordance with international standards.

Chapter 5 develops complete utility-scale PV plant design capability through real engineering case studies. Participants learn plant sizing methodologies, DC/AC optimization, transformer station design, communication networks, BESS integration, PVsyst simulations, SketchUp and AutoCAD workflows, engineering deliverables, BOQ preparation, project execution strategies, tendering processes, and financial analysis using professional utility-scale engineering practices.

You Will Learn

You will learn how to design and engineer utility-scale PV power plants integrated with medium-voltage networks. The course develops advanced skills in protection systems, substations, switchgear, transformer stations, SCADA architecture, and large-scale PV plant sizing. You will also learn engineering documentation, EDL preparation, project planning, tendering, and complete financial modelling for utility-scale projects. The training prepares you for professional EPC and consultancy roles.
